| I've always wondered about this image; http://tinyurl.com/mmpjrfwPosting it to a Tinyurl for those who don't want to be jumpscared by checking out the thread. I'm genuinely curious, because it's such a strangely horrifying image. It looks like this dude either; Suffered some horribly gangrene infection, and/or Froze to death in that position, noting what seems to be small piles of snow around the bench the man is sitting on. Anyone mind helping me figure out where the hell this weird ass image is from? Edit without editing: Welp, mystery solved. http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/Motion-Activated-SPAZM-Decoration/It's an animatronic Halloween prop. | |

| Or maybe the Halloween pop up is based on that image. You never know. Doesn't matter anyways, if you got freaked out by one of those chain mail things, trust me it's not real. The first time I got one I freaked out and stayed up all night till EXACTLY 1:33 lol it was pretty intense for me. And when nothing happened I still freaked out thinking "Is she just a little late?"
But anyways, don't believe anything on those pictures, actually scratch that, don't even pay attention to them, it's all just a prank.

| It is worth a read, just thinking about it is giving me the heebie jeebies.
Although, it could use less of the visceral JUST to be offensive, it kind of takes away from the story.
Like this one creepypasta involving the Rugrats, out of nowhere it mentioned, a "Harlequin Fetus."
Like seriously, stop shoehorning "creepy," things into a story for the sake of being offensive.

It's not so much being offensive, it's the fact that most writers don't seem to grasp that meaningless gore =/= scary. Quite the opposite, since subtlety is the key to horror. Most Lost episode creepypastas are just gorefests without much much actual horror in them. I'm trying to think of a single one that did it right actually, but off the top of my head there's no real good ones. My favorite ones are 'The Strangest Security Tape I ever saw" and "The Dissapearance of Ashley Kansas" because they both understand how to properly scare the pants off of you. Bonus points go to the Godzilla NES creepypasta for being a really good long one that doesn't do gore and actually has shopped screenshots of the 'game' to make it more believeable.

| That's why authors like Stephen King and Ray Bradbury are VERY good at what they do; Suspense and Subtlety. | |
